I haven’t done any work on the allotment now for over a week as the weather has been so cold and wet. It’s also been so windy that I haven’t dared plant out the sweetcorn and squashes for fear of them getting battered to death. As it is, some of the squash plants I put in a couple of weeks ago have had their stems snapped. When the packet says early sowings benefit from cloche protection, they don’t tell you it’s to protect them from the wind as well as the cold! Anyway, today is bright and sunny and it’s sod’s law - I’ve got work to do on the computer. Let’s hope it stays nice for the weekend.
