On the 16th June I put a photo on the blog of our sea of potatoes. I had forgotten what I had planted where – I hadn’t labelled them thinking that I would remember which rows had which type of potato – and was left thoroughly confused when I dug up a plant expecting to find Edzell Blues and found Pink Fir Apples instead. I then dug up one plant from each row – still no Edzell Blues. In the meantime I was relieved to discover that I had written down what I had planted in my allotment diary, which still doesn’t explain why I can’t find those elusive Edzell Blues. Perhaps I planted an extra Pink Kerr at the beginning of the row. Perhaps the bag of seed potatoes was mislabelled.
I have a book called The Food Doctor by Vicki Edgson and Ian Marber and in the section on memory and concentration, foods with B-complex vitamins are said to be good for memory maintenance. One especially good source is the potato!
