It’s great: the peas and mange tout have just about finished and the French beans and runner beans are now doing their thing. Just like a relay race. The squashes are starting to produce small fruits so I reckon that they’ll be ready once the beans finish. The beetroot are getting quite big but haven’t turned woody, so they can stay where they are for a bit longer. Other than the continual supply of courgettes – forget bread and fish, courgettes would have fed the five thousand easily - I don’t feel too overwhelmed by our supply of fresh veg - at the moment.
