In praise of doing nothing

by julieg 12. June 2009 12:22
I didn’t go over to the allotment last night and I’m not going tonight, and I might not even go over until Sunday. It is true, there are always jobs to do on an allotment: weeding, watering, planting, hoeing, just checking to see what’s doing well and what’s been eaten by slugs or pigeons, and I really enjoy popping over there to just look. But very occasionally I find that it can get a bit obsessive and can feel a bit like watching paint dry. So I’m going to give the allotment a little space to do its thing without me hovering about. By doing nothing, lots will happen and then I will have lots to see and do on Sunday.
