Well, I had a few days off and when I went back over to the allotment it did feel good to notice the changes. If the plants are growing fast at this time of year then so are the weeds and I think I'll have to get the hoe out for my next job.
There is a narrow little path which takes you to the allotments and at the end of it you get this view of the allotments in the distance.
Our asparagus plants have now turned into an eight foot wall of fern.

A sea of potatoes. Unfortunately I thought I'd rely on my memory about where I planted which type of potato. Now they all look the same to me!
This is the result of my Dad's digging while with us on 'holiday'. Curly kale, sprouts and purple sprouting broccoli under a pigeon proof net. Last year the cabbage butterflies still got through but the children enjoyed picking off the caterpillers so they can have that job again this year.
