A squash and a squeeze

by julieg 5. August 2009 14:35

I get so excited when I search through those huge almost jungle-like leaves and my eye catches the smooth light skin of a squash (of some sort). I am gradually working out what’s what and despite some pretty hard cutting back to stop them taking over the whole of the allotment, most of the plants look really healthy. I am slightly disappointed though as I haven’t found any evidence of butternut squash.

I spotted a Crown Prince!

I think this is a Patty Pan

This year's pumpkins are not as big as last year's as the first lot of seeds failed

I'm sure it's not a green pepper - this must be a Winter Dumpling
